Before our work, the site was a raised area next to the existing outdoor pools. To accommodate the new splash pad, a dedicated plant room was required to house the recirculation system. The area beneath the outdoor seating was selected as the best location for this facility.
We have created a bespoke splash pad tailored to its natural setting. The design allows for clear visibility across the area, ensuring easy supervision while maintaining a seamless flow with the existing pool layout.
To blend with the environment, we developed a forest-themed splash pad, inspired by the scenic woodland backdrop. Using muted greens, blues, and browns, the design harmonizes with the surrounding landscape while maintaining a vibrant and inviting atmosphere.
The Woodland Run provides exciting movement opportunities as children weave between tree trunks—some of which contain hidden nozzles, tipping buckets, and rain showers! These forest features are crafted from HDPE panels for durability, with custom polycarbonate panels that cast colourful light patterns, adding a sensory dimension to the play experience.
Throughout the forest, a river-themed wetpour surface enhances engagement, featuring stepping stones and playful pathways that invite children to hop, skip, and jump through the area, sparking creativity and imaginative play.
Safety is at the forefront of our design. The interactive forest fence serves as both a natural barrier and an engaging play element, ensuring that children remain within the designated play area. Additionally, in-ground features from our Eco Splash range provide gentle water interactions, including:
Peacock Nozzle – Sprays three arches of water for children to run through or crawl under.
Other Custom Nozzles – Offering a variety of water patterns to maximize interactive play.
A sustainable water management solution was incorporated, with a pumping main directing water back to the main road drains, reducing environmental impact while optimizing water use.
The installation at Cofton Holiday Parks presented unique challenges, particularly regarding site access and safety. As the park remained operational during construction, a comprehensive Traffic Management Plan was implemented to coordinate deliveries and ensure minimal disruption.
Given the steep terrain, we utilized a rear service road for material transportation. To ensure safety, trained banksmen guided all vehicle movements, adapting as needed to maintain efficiency. The plant room, located beneath a balcony, required custom spatial planning in collaboration with the client’s installation team.
The steep terrain surrounding the site required specialized concrete vehicles with conveyor belts to transport materials over the perimeter wall efficiently. Additional labor resources were deployed to manage on-site transportation, ensuring a smooth and precise installation.
Through innovative problem-solving and collaborative planning, we successfully delivered a high-quality splash pad that blends seamlessly with its surroundings, offering a unique and engaging water play experience at Cofton Holiday Parks.
Upon completion, we conducted a thorough independent play inspection to identify and address any potential safety risks.
