Existing Site

The project site was initially a green field area located next to a newly developed play area.

Design

Working in close collaboration with Teignbridge District Council, we transformed a tired, existing splash pad site into a vibrant, engaging water play space. Thanks to our expertise in custom base plate design, we seamlessly installed brand-new, colourful water features, breathing fresh life into the area.

At the heart of the splash pad, two new tipping buckets provide an exciting and interactive focal point, introducing a dynamic play element to the once-dated setup. In addition, two Shape Shifter features with brightly coloured panels were included—specifically designed to delight younger children, ensuring the space appeals to a wider age range.

One challenge we overcame was the limited capacity of the existing incoming water main. To address this, we developed and fitted custom nozzles, allowing the features to deliver stronger, more playful water sprays—boosting the overall play value without requiring major infrastructure upgrades.

Post-Completion & Safety Inspection

Upon completion, we conducted a thorough independent play inspection to identify and address any potential safety risks and ensure the area conforms to EN 1176/77 Playground standards.
